Lindsey's Maternity Session

Talk about a beautiful...this girl, GORGEOUS! Dry Lake Bed at sunset...STUNNING! Both mixed together, calls for some beautiful photos. Lindsey is a sweet girl I go to church with and lucky enough for me this day, she brought 2 of her close, fashion blogger, friends to the photo shoot with her. It was like have 4 extra eyes and hands with me the whole time. IT WAS AMAZING! Although, you can't totally tell it here, we were really laughing the whole time and they were watching every detail as the night unfolded. Fixing hair, dresses, movement...it was simply brilliant and the best time I've had in a long time!

Lindsey thank you so much for choosing me to capture your memories, during this most special time in your life! I truly, hope your birth and me meet ;)

The Hawkins Family

Talk about gorgeous! This family's neighborhood is literally covered in trees. Trees that overgrow the streets on all sides, throughout the whole neighborhood. Tucked away in a small part of Henderson, you would never know this place exists. Absolutely breath taking. Well, at least for me, because trees are rare enough as it is in Nevada. The desert is brown all around. I simply just thought it was magical.

The Hawkins family sure is blessed to have this view everyday. And I'm blessed to know them. Thanks Mandi for trusting me with your photos and allowing me to capture them again. AND also for being silly. I love silly. I love when families can relax and just have fun being...well....FUN. Until, the next time... ;)

Smith Newborn

I've been pretty lucky my last couple sessions to have newborns that literally never peed or pooped even once during our session. I was starting to think I was really getting the hang of newborns. UNTIL...this particular session. Poor Josh got pooped on THREE times! Only when HE held her... EVERY TIME! Not when she was on the rocking chair or the teddy bear, that was made of his mom's clothing, not the changing table or the floor. ONLY when he picked her up to hold her for photos.

We seriously, laughed SO HARD! And you would be so proud of him. He took it so well. He laughed too, smiled and said to her "that's ok baby girl"...It was the sweetest and yet the grossest, histarical moments of starting off parenthood with a newborn. I bet they will never forgot those moments...

Ozark Family

I will probably never forget this session for a couple reasons.  One, the main purpose of this particular session was to get pictures of grandma and grandpa with their granddaughter. Seems easy enough right? Wrong. Grandma and Grandpa don't live in NV. They live in Louisiana. So, as much as they can see their precious granddaughter, she, the granddaughter, isn't entirely sure she remembers them until they get to spend time together and she builds up that trust and such. GUESS when grandma and grandpa got to town? You guessed it...that day! The day we were doing pictures. So, you can almost sense her insecurity right through the pictures. Upset, Untrustworthy, Unsure.

We tried many different things, holding hands, feeding fish, throwing rocks and collecting feathers. Eventually, she did come around. She actually became a little social butterfly, dancing and twirling all around. But getting her to sit still for any pictures was almost harder than getting her to smile with grandma and grandpa. LOL! Especially because we were trying to keep her happy.

Small children are unpredictable. The cutest on the planet, but unpredictable. So, I'm always on my toes with little ones. Mostly just trying to get them to relax and have fun. Eventually, it pays off, but it can also be the biggest challenge.

The last reason why I will never forget this session, were the animals that we found ourselves in and around.  Completely not on purpose. Baby geese and Grown geese just all around. Super beautiful.
